Time to review what I have done in 2006: 1 year target set in Sept 2005: (before I started in ABN AMRO) Overall, quite a satisfactory year for me. Getting really used to work life and able to take a balance between work, family and friends. And one surprise is that, I find such a lovely and considerate girlfriend, which is not in my target below! 1. Pass CFA Level 1 in Dec 2005 and CFA Level 2 in June 2006 Passed luckily, should also appreciate myself for the limited time that I studied
2. Pass all basic exams for work Done, but seems that I didn't do any exam....
3. Top 2 graduate trainee among all 4. Positive comments from head when rotation Difficult to say as we are not ranked and difficult to compare, but do receive quite positive comments from different desks. Did learn a lot under different rotations. A potential problem is that knowing much but not in depth.... Need to have a better focus in 2007
5. Widen horizon: e.g. Holland training, strike for travel opportunity Not really.... apart from Amsterdam and Singapore, basically stayed in Hong Kong. Had quite some chances to meet management from different clients, but could have strived for more!
6. Confident presentation Basically no improvement as I have much less opportunites to practice than I expected.
7. Junior management skills Got some graduates to help me for the past few months. Not really manage, but to work with them. Sort of accumulate some experience of management. Interaction and appreciation is the key.
8. Relationship: Yingtin, Wah Yan, Betterland, Primary School Yingtin - Quite good, still my best group of friends! Wah Yan - Improving, able to come out more and join more activities, can feel we all treasure our relationship Betterland - Probably need to spend more time, not come out often apart from hockey Primary School - Quite good, a few gatherings every year and able to keep in touch, thanks TPT!
9. Care for family Can feel that it is improving, especially after Dad has retired. More chat and interaction, especially when Losa often comes.
10. FRM in November 2006 Never attempted. Actually quite an ad hoc plan when I set. Soon know that probably not too useful for me.
